Our mission
Cadem
is dedicated to empowering CNC machinists to cut intelligently and
make more money. Our goal is to provide machinist-friendly CAD/CAM
and DNC for production machining.
It
all started in 1989
Almost every CAD/CAM
software available then (same story even now) was designed for milling
in the mold making and aerospace industries. The fact was that while
90% of the metal cutting was in production milling and turning,
only 10% of the CAD/CAM was designed for this. Most of the CAD/CAM was built for complex surface machining in the tooling and aerospace
industries, which accounted for less than 10 % of the industry.
There
was also the serious misconception that mold milling was "high
end" while production milling and turning was "low end".
We at Cadem thought otherwise, and saw a large potential for a machinist-friendly
CAM software for production milling and turning. CAPSmill and CAPSturn were born as a result of this. Just
generating NC programs was not enough. The programs had to be transmitted
between the computers and the machines. NCnet DNC was born.
Cadem Today
Our office is located in Bangalore, the machine tool capital of India, which also has most of India's aerospace industries. Bangalore is also home to CNC system builders Fanuc, Siemens, GE and Anilam. We operate worldwide through our international reseller network in 16 countries from our Bangalore headquarters.
Cadem's products are today the industry standard in India, and close to becoming the industry-standard in numerous other countries. Most CNC machine builders and sellers in India and many abroad either use, recommend or resell Cadem's software products. NCnet Lite, the free version of our NCnet DNC, is the first-choice DNC program for thousands of DNC users worldwide.

We now offer a suite of software products and services for production machining
• CAPSmill - CAD/CAM for milling
• CAPSturn - CAD/CAM for turning
• NCnet DNC system
• SHOPtrack - Productivity Tracking System
We have come a long way since that first small beginning, but our driving philosophy is the same.
"Cut intelligently, make money"
Strengths and Focus
Our strengths arise from our background on the CNC shop floor. We understand shop floor problems and speak the shop floor language. Our products reflect this they are easy to use, employ common shop floor terminology, and provide solutions to shop floor problems. You will never find them over-designed.
We have reached where we are today because we never lost touch with working with our hands on the shop. Listening to our customers and working closely with machine builders and cutting tool companies has kept us in the forefront of metal cutting technology.
We are essentially machinists developing software to solve machinists’ problems, not software types developing software for machinists.
Our customer profile
Cadem's customer base extends across a wide spectrum of CNC machine users worldwide. Its products are affordable enough to be used by 2-machine job shops and technologically advanced enough to be used by large multinational engineering companies like John Deere, Tyco, Suzuki, Toyota, etc.
Many CNC machine builders have endorsed our products by using and selling them as Original Equipment.

Our Educational policy
Many technical institutes in India, Greece, Mauritius, Australia and Netherlands use our products to study CNC programming and Computer Aided Programming as part of their syllabus. Cadem has a well-defined policy for promoting interest in metal cutting in technical educational institutions and to ensure a new generation of trained metal cutting personnel in future. |
