seeNC is a tool path simulator for teaching CNC programming for Fanuc controllers in the CAD/CAM laboratories of technical institutes. seeNC Mill is designed to teach programming for CNC mills and seeNC Turn for lathes.
- Teaches industry-standard programming
- Improves the effectiveness of the teaching
- Complete teaching aid - operations, tooling, CNC programming
- Makes evaluation easy
Efficient and systematic teaching
seeNC checks for both kinds of errors possible in an NC program
Syntax errors
For example: use of improper G code
Logical errors
For example: programming a rapid traverse command when linear interpolation is intended seeNC makes the instructor's job easy. It takes care of the routine and repetitive low end tasks, and leaves him more time to do the high end work. NC programming is taught by making students write a number of programs. The instructor checks each program, points out mistakes and recommends changes. This is an extremely tedious process, and can become impossible to do when a large number of students is involved. seeNC speeds and makes this process systematic.
Software guided learning
seeNC checks a program for syntax errors in seconds, and feedback is immediate. A list of syntax errors with their locations is automatically displayed. Logical errors are checked through the graphical tool path simulation, which dynamically shows the tool shape, position, and parameters like the current spindle speed and feed rate. Since the student is able to check his own programs with guidance from the software, the instructor is not burdened with these jobs. The instructor need only take a quick look at the final tool path.
How you could typically use seeNC
- Teach programming for Fanuc 0M using the online programming guide.
- Teach applications and tool paths for various machining operations using the online guide.
- For each topic make the students write sample programs for the exercises in the guide, and try them out in seeNC.
- The student writes a program, the software checks the syntax in a few seconds and gives him a list of errors and their locations.
- He corrects the errors and repeats the process. This is repeated till all syntax errors are eliminated.
- The student now checks the program for logical errors through the graphical tool path simulation.
- The student has managed to correct his own program using error guidance from seeNC, with minimal intervention from the instructor.
- seeNC has done the first level checking, and the instructor now does the final checking.
Supports multiple students
The network version of seeNC can run on multiple PCs on a network.
Standardization exam procedures
seeNC evaluates a program in seconds. To check the correctness of a program the examiner would normally look for syntax errors and logical errors. With seeNC the examiner just looks at the list of syntax errors generated by the software, and then at the graphical display of the tool path. Examiner fatigue is reduced, and hence chances of the examiner committing errors in evaluation are reduced. Evaluation is standardized and consistent.
Not just CNC programming
Knowledge of machining operations and cutting tools is necessary to be able to write NC programs. When a student uses seeNC, apart from NC programming he also gets a foundational knowledge of CNC machining in these areas:
- How the tool moves in each machining operation
- The appropriate tool to be used for each operation
- Sequence of writing codes and the program flow
- Rules of NC programming
- Tool geometry fundamentals
- Tool nomenclature for tool holders and inserts
- High efficiency and speed of teaching
- Full teaching aid - operations, tooling, CNC programming
- Improves the effectiveness of the teaching
- Teaches industry-standard programming
- Makes students to be industry -ready
- Simultaneous use on a network
- Examinations made easy
- Online programming guide
- Comprehensive suite of CNC software for CAM Lab
