General features of NCnet
Interface - Works through RS-232-C interface.
Protocols - Supports Xon/Xoff or RTS / DTR protocol.
On-line Help - Has extensive on-line Help.
User friendly - Get the DNC going in 5 minutes.
Long file names - Supports long file names.
High speed DNC
Program transfer can be performed at up to 57,600 baud rate.
Directory listing
The list of programs on the PC can be viewed on the machine.
Auto compare and save
Programs received at the PC from a machine are compared with their original versions, and are saved only if they have been altered on the machine.
Sequential machining
A batch of separate programs can be sent to the machine in a pre-specified sequence.
Program integrity
Each machine has separate directories for programs to be transmitted to the machine and those received from the machine. This ensures that proven and trial versions of programs do not get mixed up.
Access rights
Each machine can be given access to the programs of selected other machines. This is useful when programs need to be interchanged between machines.
Hardware requirements
PC with MS-Windows 2000 / XP
NC editor
Unlimited file size.
There is no limit on the size of the file that can be edited.
File compare.
Two files are automatically compared for differences.
Block renumbering.
NC program blocks are automatically renumbered with user-specified format.
Testing and Diagnostics
Comm port testing
Comm port testing for all baud rates and hardware signals.
Diagnostics software helps in solving DNC problems.
Special features for Die machining
Programs larger than the machine controller's memory can be executed in the drip feed mode if the controller is capable of drip feed execution.
Auto mode
The PC can be unmanned and program transfer initiated by the operator from the machine.
Auto restart after aborting
The last program line sent to the machine is logged continuously. If machining is aborted midway due to reasons like tool breakage, it can be resumed from this point later. Safe tool approach, feed and spindle speed are automatically taken care of. No manual editing is required.
Remote aborting
Drip feed program transfer can be aborted from the machine in case of emergencies like tool breakage.
Program block skipping
Machining can be started from any specified point in a program by specifying the number of blocks to be skipped.
Simultaneous mode
The PC can communicate simultaneously with more than one machine. Program transfer to any machine can be aborted without disturbing communication with the other machine.
